How to export all your Perplexity threads (2026)
Perplexity has no one-click "export everything" button. These are your options, from free and official to third-party.
1. Export one thread at a time (built in, free)
- Open the thread.
- Click the three dots next to Share in the top right.
- Choose Export as PDF, Markdown, or DOCX.
This works well for a few threads. With hundreds, it gets tedious.
2. Request a full data export (official, free)
Go to Help, then Contact Support, and ask for an export of your account content. Perplexity sends a download link to a ZIP. Turnaround varies, and the files are raw data, not formatted documents.
3. Free browser extensions
Free community extensions on the Chrome Web Store can bulk-export your history. One example is Perplexity Chat Exporter, which saves Markdown with Obsidian-friendly frontmatter. If Markdown is all you need, start there. These tools are unofficial and can break when Perplexity updates its site.
4. Bulk export to PDF, Word, or Notion
If you need formatted documents, or want your Spaces kept as folders, that's the gap ThreadVault is built to fill.
