How to export your Gemini chats (2026)

Gemini has no "export all chats" button. Here are the realistic options.

1. Google Takeout (free, official)

  1. Go to takeout.google.com and click Deselect all.
  2. Select My Activity, then under its options keep only Gemini Apps.
  3. Create the export. You get an archive with your Gemini prompts and responses as activity records (HTML or JSON).

It is an activity log, not a set of tidy conversations, and may not include everything you see in the app.

2. Export one response

Under a response, use the share/export menu to send it to Google Docs or a Gmail draft. Good for one answer at a time.

3. Bulk to Markdown

To keep each conversation as a readable file, use a bulk-export browser extension or parse the Takeout JSON with a script.
