Texas new business leads: new stores, restaurants and shops from sales tax permits

Every business that sells taxable goods or services in Texas needs a sales tax permit, so new permits are one of the earliest public signs that a new store, restaurant, salon or service business is opening. This list comes from the Texas Comptroller's open data, with the business name, location name, permit date, NAICS industry code, city, ZIP and address. Sole proprietors are excluded.

Free to try: Apify's free plan ($5/month credit, no credit card) covers about 2,500 records a month. After that it is $2 per 1,000 records.

Tips for a better list

Filter by NAICS industry code where the source publishes it (for example 722 for restaurants, 23 for construction, 531 for real estate), or by words in the business name. Use a short date window (7 or 30 days) so you only get the newest filings, and a ZIP prefix to stay in your territory.
